BANGKOK, Dec 21 (TNA) – The Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration stops registration for the Test & Go entry program today but previously approved visitors can arrive as they planned.
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha announced the resolution from the meeting of the CCSA he chaired today. The center discussed measures to cope with the outbreaks of COVID-19’s Omicron variant.
Without Test & Go, visitors will be either quarantined for 7 days or enter the country via the Phuket Sandbox program which remains in effect.
About 200,000 people earlier registered for their arrival via Test & Go and Sanbox schemes. Of them, about 100,000 already arrived and about 90,000 others will do.
The remainder could visit the country under old conditions but screening procedures will be intensified until Jan 10, 2022. The government would reconsider situations on Jan 4, Prime Minister Prayut said.
New Year-related activities will happen as planned. (TNA)
