BANGKOK, Aug 12 (TNA) – The Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking (JSCCIB) will ask the new finance minister to help the service sector that is seriously affected by the coronavirus disease 2019.
Kalin Sarasin, chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Trade of Thailand, said he had an initial discussion on economic stimulation with Finance Minister Predee Daochai and asked the latter to continue with effective stimulus measures of the government.
He also said that JSCCIB would later propose additional stimulus measures, especially assistance for small and medium-sized enterprises in the service sector that were heavily hit by COVID-19.
Six new cabinet ministers including Mr Predee went to the Amphorn Sathan Residential Hall in the Dusit Palace for their swearing-in this morning.
Tomorrow all cabinet ministers will pose for photographs on the lawn in front of the Thai Khu Fah Building at Government House and the new line-up of the Prayut Chan-o-cha cabinet will start its first meeting at 9am. (TNA)
