BANGKOK, March 7 (TNA) – Thailand confirms two more Covid-19 patients – two Thai nationals, who have recently returned from Italy, bringing the total cases in the country to 50.
Dr. Sukum Kanchanapimai, permanent secretary for Public Health said the first patient, aged 40, fell sick on March 5 and is now receiving treatment at Rajavithi Hospital.
The other patient at the same age was in the same group of the field trip to Italy with the first new patient. He is receiving the treatment at Nopparatrajathanee Hospital.
There were six people, who went to Italy in the field trip of a company altogether. Out of the total, three of them have been infected with the coronavirus while three others are under close monitoring.
So far, a total of 50 virus patients were found in the kingdom. A total of 31 of them were recovered and returned home and 18 persons are still in hospitals. One patient died from the coronavirus.
Speaking on the case of a Thai female worker who has just returned home from South Korea, Dr. Sukum said she was first tested positive with the COVID-19. But two other labs showed negative.
She is under medical surveillance for two weeks, the permanent secretary added. (TNA)
