BANGKOK, Oct 21 (TNA) – A Brahmin blessing ritual was held at Sanam Luang ceremonial ground on Monday ahead of the opening of an exhibition on the royal barge procession.
Culture Minister Itthiphol Khunpluem presided over the blessing ceremony and the exhibition will run from Oct 25 – Nov 11 from 10 am. -10 pm. in honour of His Majesty the King.
The royal barge procession of His Majesty the King to attend the Kathin robe-offering ceremony at Wat Arun Ratchawararam temple is part of coronation celebrations.
The exhibition building will be divided into three sections. The first section features coronation ceremonies in the Rattanakosin era. The second zone will display a light and sound presentation of Thai people’s traditional way of life, connected to the river and happiness under the reigns of the Kings via a LED screen.
The third section will feature knowledge about the royal barge processions, dated back to the Ayutthaya period and the upcoming royal barge procession on Chao Phraya River, which will take place on December 12.
Universal designs and facilities for the physically-challenged have been arranged at the exhibition. (TNA)
