BANGKOK, Feb 25 (TNA) – Low-cost carrier, Thai AirAsia is confident that the number of its passengers will increase by 6-7 per cent to 23.15 million people in 2019.
Nattinee Tawanchulee, Thai AirAsia’s head of commercial said the Thai aviation industry this year benefits from the government’s measures such as visa-on-arrival waiver and political stability is seen as the general election will take place next month.
Thai AirAsia expects the number of its passengers will increase to 23.15 million people this year from 21.6 million people in the previous year with a passenger load factor of 85 per cent.
Thai AirAsia will receive four new aircraft and its fleet will expand to 66 aircraft.
It plans to open several new routes, including the third route to Vietnam this year from Chiang Mai to Danang after it earlier launched two new routes from Bangkok to Can Tho and Nha Trang.
The airlines aims to increase the passengers in CLMV countries to replace Chinese passengers, which dropped last year. (TNA)
