BANGKOK, Feb 14 (TNA) – Some MP candidates gave free hugs
to campaign for votes on the Valentine’s Day on Thursday while leaders of
Future Forward and Action Coalition for Thailand parties introduced their
candidates to eligible voters.
Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, leader of the Future Forward
Party, brought his candidates to Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Rajabhat University in
Ayutthaya province. He received warm welcome from students and local residents.
Students cheered and took photos with him.
Mr Thanathorn encouraged students to cast their votes no
matter which parties they would favour. Young people were more interested in
politics and they would thus have more power, he said. He was confident his
party would win a House seat in Ayutthaya.
Suthep Thaugsuban, co-founder of the Action Coalition for
Thailand Party, and its candidates campaigned at a morning market in Phun Phin
district of Surat Thani province. He said his party would win in four out of
six constituencies in Surat Thani and the Democrat Party would have the rest.
Democrat Party candidate Parit Wacharasindhu went to the
Phrueksachart public park in Bang Kapi district of Bangkok to give free hugs.
Many people welcomed him and gave him roses and heart-shaped stickers.
Many of them took photos with him and hugged him including
senior citizens who usually worked out at the park in the morning. Some of them
also kissed Mr Parit. (TNA)
