NONTHABURI, Aug 21 (TNA) –Thailand will host the 51st ASEAN Economic Ministers Meeting (AEM) and the 7th Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Ministerial Meeting in early September.
Oramon Sapthaweetham, director-general of the Trade Negotiations Department, said Tuesday that the meetings and related sessions were set at Shangri-La Hotel in Bangkok on Sept 3-10.
The Senior Economic Officials Meeting (SEOM) was set for Sept 3-5 to prepare for the AEM that would take place on Sept 5-6. Conclusions from AEM will be forwarded to the ASEAN Summit in Bangkok in early November, Ms Oramon said.
The 7th RCEP Ministerial Meeting covering participants from 16 countries was set on Sept 7-8. It will pave the way for conclusions in the RCEP Summit in November, she said.
On Sept 9 and 10, there will be a meeting of ASEAN trade ministers and their counterparts from ten countries namely China, Japan, South Korea, India, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada and Russia. It will partly prepare for the meeting of ASEAN leaders and their counterparts from the ten countries in Bangkok in November, Ms Oramon said. (TNA)
