BANGKOK, July 27 (TNA) – Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha pledged that his government would convene meetings with concerned state agencies on increasing revenue for agriculturists, developing education and boosting investor confidence.
Gen. Prayut, also defence minister, thanked members of parliament following the end of a two-day policy debate session. He said the government would start working on various aspects including problems concerning landless farmers, social disparity, increasing skills for labourers and moving national economy forward.
Asking citizens to have faith in his government, Gen. Prayut said his government would perform duty for Thai people transparently and strictly preserve monetary discipline so that it would “leave no one behind in the 21st century”.
The government would divide national strategies into three stages namely the short term, which would take one year, the mid term between two to three years and five years for the long term, he said.
Power would be distributed, scrutinise, evaluated and corrected in line with the government policy, said Gen. Prayut, adding that his government would make an effort so that they could become materialise.
Regarding his improper words during the session, Gen. Prayut said it would take time for him to adapt himself, believing that no one was better than others and that he would waste no time to quarrel with them.
After ending the session, the secretariat of the House of Representatives told members that its first meeting would be held at the new parliament house in the next two weeks. (TNA)
