PHANG-NGA, July 9 (TNA) – A bottlenose dolphin has been spotted
off Koh Panyi island in Phang-nga province, marine park officials say.
The dolphin approached Ao Phang-nga National Park officials
when they were on duty near the island on Tuesday.
Head of the National Park Sarayut Tasathien said the marine
mammal appeared in good shape and tame while it swam alongside the boat.
Sighting of bottlenose dolphins had recently been reported
three times in the National Park, indicating abundant food and good ecological
condition of the Park, he said.
The National Park had made ocean waste collection its top
priority, he said, with an order for daily operation during this rainy season,
Sarayut said.
Public campaign against loitering had been carried out with
tourists and tour operators in order to preserve the nature’s beauty and
important natural habitat of marine animals, he said.(TNA)
