TRANG, June 29 (TNA) – Marium, the six-month-old baby dugong which was
rescued in late April can consume more milk on a daily basis, veterinarians said
Saturday.
They said the baby dugong, which is now living under the care of veterinarian on Koh Libong of the southern province of Trang could
live on milk-feeding at 3,150
millilitres from 2,900 millitres per day.
Veterinarians of Department of Marine and Coastal
Resources said it is expected that the weight would increase from 29
kilogrammes to around 30 – 31 kilogrammes next week.
However, they do not feed milk to her at night during
the current monsoon season on fear of safety for concerned officials. (TNA)
