KANCHANABURI, June 4 (TNA) – Kanchanaburi Provincial Court dismissed the case, that teacher Preecha Kraikrua filed a lawsuit against retired officer Pol Lt Jaroon Wimool for alleged embezzlement and receiving stolen goods in the 30-mln-baht lottery dispute.
The court ruled that there was no substantial evidence as the plaintiff’s witnesses gave contradicting testimonies.
The date that Preecha claimed that he bought the lottery tickets was unclear.
Moreover, the audio clip of a mobile phone conversation between Preecha and a lottery vendor was revealed that Preecha told the vendor that he didn’t win the lottery.
According to the Government Lottery Office’s regulations, the holder of the winning lottery tickets is the real owner of the tickets.
In 2017, Preecha filed a complaint against Pol Lt Jaroon, accusing the latter of collecting his lost winning lottery tickets of Nov 1, 2017 draw and claiming the cash prize of 30 million baht.
The cash prize was then frozen while Pol Lt Jaroon insisted that the set of five winning tickets belonged to him.
Pol Lt Jaroon later decided to file a complaint in Bangkok after the investigation concluded Preecha was the owner of the tickets, based on the testimony of witnesses although only Jaroon’s fingerprints were found on the tickets.
The case was then transferred from the regional police to the Crime Suppression Division last year. (TNA)
