BANGKOK, May 29 (TNA) — The secretary-general of the House of Representatives assures that the Chantra Meeting Chamber of the new parliament complex will be completed before June 22 and the Suriyan Meeting Chamber will be finished within October.
Sorasak Pienvej, the secretary-general, made the assurance while leading reporters to the Chantra Meeting Chamber that will be the Senate Chamber. He wanted the Chantra chamber to be completed before June 22 so that it could serve the meetings of the Senate and the House.
The monthly lease of the auditorium of TOT Plc on Chaeng Watthana Road would expire on June 22, he said.
“Systems in the Chantra chamber must be ready for meetings too. The Chantra chamber will have 600 seats… Desks and chairs are being installed. Audio systems will be tested,” Mr Sorasak said.
He also said that the wall behind the parliament president’s seat would initially be raw concrete because the Budget Bureau had excluded a budget for a picture of Thai characteristics on the wall.
Mr Sorasak said he hoped the Suriyan chamber that would be the chamber of the House would be completed within October, except its microphone and voting systems. (TNA)
