BANGKOK, May 21 (TNA) — Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said the formation of the new government depended on discussions among political parties and it should be settled soon to protect national economy.
Gen Prayut, as chief of the National Council for Peace and Order, also said that he was satisfied with the achievements of the council which would mark its 5th anniversary tomorrow.
It had solved many problems including those concerning a rice-pledging scheme and corruption. It had ensured national peace, amended laws and developed infrastructures, he said.
Solutions to national problems should be systematic and continuous for the sustainability of national development and an efficient cabinet would facilitate the solutions, Gen Prayut said.
“There have been situations and everyone must adjust. I believe that politicians from all parties share the same thought. People elected them, so they must listen to people’s voices and opinions. I would like the new government to proceed with the work of the NCPO,” Gen Prayut said.
The formation of the next government must be done soon. Otherwise, that would affect the national economy in the time when Thailand needed to build up confidence amid the global trade war, the prime minister said. (TNA)
