BANGKOK, May 18 (TNA) – Rainy season starts officially next Monday in Thailand, but there will be lesser rain than last year, said a senior officer of Meteorological Department.
Deputy director-general for Operations of the Department said Thailand would embark on wet season next Monday and it would start in the South first.
The rainy season will later continue until mid-October but the eastern flank of the Gulf of Thailand will see rain until middle of January next year.
However, the volume of rainwater will be approximately 5 – 10 per cent less than the corresponding period of 2018.
It warned that this could affect several agricultural areas outside irrigation zones. (TNA)
