PATTANI, May 15 (TNA) – Teacher protection units,
comprising police, soldiers and civil network get ready to start operations to
provide security for teachers, travelling to and from school on the first day
of the new semester tomorrow (May 16).
Pattani governor, Kraisorn Wisitwong presided over
releasing rows of combined teacher protection units, one day before the school opening.
He ordered officials and security volunteers to be on
alert for possible insurgent attacks after security agencies had warned about movement
of the insurgent groups, active in three southern border provinces and four districts
of Songkhla province.
The province will beef up security, set up road
checkpoints to search suspicious persons and vehicles, and keep an eye on any
irregularity in the areas. (TNA)
