BANGKOK, April 18 (TNA) — Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has sent a condolence message to the French government and people after a fire ravaged the world-famous Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris on April 15.
Gen Prayut on Wednesday sent a message of condolence to his French counterpart Édouard Philippe, saying that he was shocked and saddened over the massive fire that caused extensive damage to Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris on Monday.
“I wish to express my heartfelt sympathies to the French Government and her people for such a heartbreaking incident. The Notre Dame Cathedral is not only a pride of the French people. Indeed, it has been an icon of architectural and artistic excellence and an inspiration to mankind,” Gen Prayut said.
He added that he was very much confident in the efforts of the French government to restore the Notre Dame Cathedral to its original magnificence, and the government and the people of Thailand are solidly behind the French government as France is moving along that path. (TNA)
