SONGKHLA, April 12 (TNA) – Lots of Malaysian and Singaporean tourists have flocked into Hat Yai district of Songkhla province to celebrate the Songkran festival.
The tourists joined local residents in the Songkran festival in Hat Yai, especially on Sanehanusorn Road that passes through commercial areas of the district and is the venue of the Hat Yai Midnight Songkran event.
The special Songkran celebration event started at the night of April 11. It will be officially launched at 7pm on April 12 and there will be parades in Hat Yai district in the evening. Thai and foreign Songkran revelers have enjoyed splashing water on a 500-meter-long section of Sanehanusorn Road.
The considerable arrivals of Malaysian and Singaporean tourists make Songkran celebrations lively in Hat Yai as usual. Maximal security measures are imposed to ensure public safety there. (TNA)
