BANGKOK, March 25 (TNA) – Three Palang Pracharat Party (PPP) candidates filed complaints to the Election Commission (EC) about suspicious irregularities in vote counting at three vote constituencies in Bangkok.
Thipanun Sirichana, Chom Thong district candidate, Orapin Petchthat, Huai Kwang district candidate and Kritchanond Aiyapanya, Bang Khae district candidate filed complaint to reject the vote counting at the constituencies that they are contesting.
They reported suspicion on voting counting procedures. They claimed vote counting officials in Chom Thong district obstructed observers from seeing the ballots clearly.
When the party observers showed objection, they were blamed and banned from taking photos.
Moreover, they said valid ballots were not separated from voided ballots after the vote counting.
In Huai Kwang district, they complained about suspicion in making decision to void ballots by officials and disappearance of 20 cast ballots. Vote recount showed different figures from the first tally.
The vote counting in Bang Kae district was conducted with inadequate lighting, they claimed.
The Palang Pracharat candidate led other contestants along the way from the outset but finally, it ended losing with only about 100 votes less than their contestant.
The PPP candidate questioned about a candidate of another party, being seen suspiciously met an official at the district office. (TNA)
