BANGKOK, March 19 (TNA) – Officials organised the first
rehearsal of a royal procession for His Majesty the King related to the
coronation set for May.
A government sub-committee responsible for the organisation
of the royal celebration parade conducted the rehearsal with about 1,500
officials, who will be in the ceremony on May 5.
The rehearsal took place at a multi-purpose field of the 1st
Army Area in Bang Khen district, Bangkok.
The officials included cavalry police, royal guards, staff
from the Royal Household Bureau, the Army Quartermaster Department, the Army
Ordnance Department, the Army Air Defense Command, and ministries and students
from the Armed Forces Academies Preparatory School and the Vajiravudh College.
The royal procession was designed to stretch 6.7 kilometers
and takes about three hours. Eighty officers of the Army Quartermaster
Department were assigned to wear traditional clothes and carry royal regalia in
the procession. The regalia include royal flags and tiered umbrellas. (TNA)
