CHING MAI. March 7 (TNA) – Tourist police in Chiang Mai
city hold an emergency drill to improve tourist safety.
Emergency response teams and other agencies also
participated in the drill at the ancient gate of Tha Pae on Wednesday.
The drill simulated a tourist being robbed and fainted. Emergency response team provided medical
treatment before taking the tourist to police investigators.
Tourist police then investigated the crime using evidence
and witnesses’ accounts to retrieve the tourist’s belonging.
Tourist Police commander Pol Maj-General Siriphong Timula
said the drill was carried out to prepare the police to better serve the
tourists who numbered over 10 million each year.
This preparation of the police would greatly boosted tourist
confidence in safety measure of Chiang Mai city, he said. (TNA)
