CHIANG RAI, Feb 16 (TNA) – Tham Luang cave in Chiang Rai, where 12 young footballers and their coach were trapped and later rescued last year will be closed next week for an indefinite period to facilitate taking out of equipment still left inside the cave.
Officials said Tham Luang will be closed from next Tuesday to allow Thai Navy SEALs to bring out equipment used during the rescue mission.
Due to flooding in the cave, those gears have been left since the rescue mission for young footballers completed in July last year.
Officials will also record important information about the cave for use in future.
However, other nearby tourist attractions, such as Khun Nam Nang Non Forest Park remain open for visitors. (TNA)
