CHIANG MAI, June 18 (TNA) – Five members of the Mu Pa or wild boars football team who survived the cave ordeal last year begin training with a local school football team.
Last June, the 12 teenage boys and their football coach was trapped in the flooded Tham Luang Cave after their training session.
They were eventually extracted in Thailand’s biggest-ever rescue mission involving more than 1,000 divers and experts from all over the world. The five boys including team captain Duangpetch Promthep or Dom have been granted football scholarship from Vachiralai Bee School in Saraphi district of Chiang Mai province.
They have taken part in training with others students in preparation for a national U-14 competition starting next month.
Dom who had been invited to trials by a number of professional clubs in Thailand said he dreamed to become a professional footballer and thanked everyone who helped him pursuing his dream. (TNA)
