UTTARADIT, Feb 11 (TNA) – Cherry blossoms in a university
in the northern Uttaradit province have lured tourists to visit.
People are visiting the Kojima Sakura Park in Uttaradit
Rajabhat University in Muang district of Uttaradit province to admire Japanese
cherry blossom and take photos.
The park boasts about 900 blossoming Japanese cherry trees
on a land plot of about 32,000 square meters near Highway 11
(Uttaradit-Phitsanulok section).
The management of the university opened the park to the
public for the first time throughout February which is the month of love. The
park gives cool air in the morning and was decorated in a Japanese atmosphere.
Assist Prof Ruangdet Wongla, rector of the university, said
the university received 1,200 cherry blossom plants that endured tropical
weather from Dr Kojima Koiji in 2015 and they were grown at the entrance of the
university.
The Sakura park was decorated in a Japanese style so that
visitors could feel as if they were in Japan. The 900 Sakura trees were three
years old and started to blossom, he said. Visitors could walk from the Sakura
park on a bridge across a lotus lake to a café.
The management of the university hoped the park would become
a tourist attraction of Uttaradit. (TNA)
