BANGKOK, Jan 28(TNA) – Namsai, a member of Thai girl band
BNK48, has met Israeli ambassador to Thailand Meir Shlomo to apologise for
wearing a shirt with a Nazi swastika symbol during her concert rehearsal.
Pichayapa “Namsai” Natha was strongly criticised for the
T-shirt showing the Nazi symbol she wore during the concert rehearsal on
January 25.The symbol relates to war cruelty and a genocide which killed
millions of people during World War II.
Namsai met the Israeli ambassador to convey her apology
directly. They discussed the importance of history, genocide and anti-Semitism.
The ambassador asked Namsai to participate in educational
activities of the Israeli embassy in the future and expressed his understanding
on her lack of knowledge on the matter.
The ambassador appreciated her apology and her willingness
to join the embassy’s activities in the future.(TNA)
