BANGKOK, Jan 11 ((TNA) – Some 49 private and public
institutes have established a new social enterprise called ‘Thai Digital
Platform Co’ to provide integrated tourism information about Thailand.
Government agencies and private enterprises including the
Chamber of Commerce signed an agreement to jointly establish the tourism
promotion scheme on Friday.
Thai Digital Platform Co will create a mobile application
TagThai to provide tourism-related information for tourists in Thai, English
and Chinese.
Tourism and Sports Minister Weerasak Kowsurat said the
platform integrated all tourism information enabling people to browse and
reserve services including hotels, restaurants and other enterprises.
It was Thailand’s first digital data platform under a
collaboration of public and private sectors, Weerasak said.
The main aims of the program were to bring about sustainable
development of the country’s tourism industry, improve market access and
competitiveness of small tourism business operators, thus, promoting social
equality, he said.
TagThai is expected to be launched in April.(TNA)
