BANGKOK, Jan 7 (TNA) — The Chinese ambassador to Bangkok presented honorary certificates to 13 students of Wat Suthiwararam School for preventing a Chinese man who has attempted to commit suicide by jumping off Taksin Bridge.
Ambassador Lyu Jian handed the certificates at the school to praise the students who convinced the Chinese man to save his life on Dec 18. They saw the man while busking under the bridge.
The ambassador said the 13 students saved the stranger with their heart and could use the Chinese language in the rescue.
He hoped the students would continue with good deeds for their own interest and the nation. The ambassador also inspected teaching at the school.
Aree Weeracharoen, director of the school, said he was proud of the students’ capability and generosity and the incident prompted the school management to open another Chinese-language class for high school students. (TNA)
