BANGKOK, Dec 24 (TNA) — Ministry of Industry and Ministry of Energy are working together to introduce measures to increase energy efficiency and minimise environmental impact under the Factory 4.0 and Energy 4.0 policy.
Deputy Industry Minister Somchai Harnhirun said that the ministry is working with the Ministry of Energy to push for the synergy of the Factory 4.0 and Energy 4.0 policies.
The task has been worked out by the Department of Industrial Works and Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency to promote the measures on energy savings, raise safety standards and minimise environmental pollution among factories.
The impetus for the drive will be increased adoption of IoT technology by implementation of Smart Monitoring, Smart Control and Data Analytics and Prediction to help factories effectively control their production facilities.
Seven pilot projects were initiated in 2018 helping factories, especially those with boilers and heating equipment to realise 10-30% energy savings.
Mr Somchai said that starting from next year the Department of Industrial Works and Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency will be expanding their efforts to include buildings and residences to further reduce the national carbon footprint on the environment. (TNA)
