NAKHON PATHOM, Dec 18 (TNA) – Thailand football star, Chanatip Songkrasin, spent 40 million baht building a youth football academy, hoping to train young talents for stardom.
The event was attended by president of the Football Association of Thailand, Pol Gen Somyos Pumpanmuang and national footballers, Adisak Kraisorn and Datsakorn Thonglao.
Chanatip spent his saving from his professional footballer’s career to build the football training academy on the two-acre land in Sam Phran district.
The facilities include two football pitches-one is artificial turf, a swimming pool, a fitness room, a reception room and a locker room.
Chanatip, who plays for Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo in the J1 League, said he hoped to inspire young footballers and wanted to see them develop their skills to be better than him in the future. He will also coach them when he has a chance while his father is in charge to look after the academy.
Chanatip is the first Thai footballer, appearing in the top tier of Japan’s professional football league system.
He was voted by his Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo’s teammates as the team’s most valuable player of the season after leading his team to a record high 4th place finish in 2018 J1 League. (TNA)
