BANGKOK, Dec 18 (TNA) – Consadole Sapporo’s Thai midfielder Chanathip Songkrasin or Messi Jay has been awarded one of the best 11 players in the J-League.
The 25-year-old Chanathip became the first player from Southeast Asia to win this award after he scored eight goals in this season, helping Consadole Sapporo clinch the fourth place in J League. He was also hailed by his teammates as the most valuable player.
After receiving the award on Tuesday, he posted a message on his Facebook, saying it is a memorable moment in his life. He feels that he goes very far and will develop himself further. Thank you everyone.
Chanathip joined Consadole in 2017 on loan from Thai side Muangthong United. He will permanently move to the J-League club when the loan period expires in February, 2019. (TNA)
