BANGKOK, DEC 10 (TNA) – Miss Universe 2018 contestants in
Thai traditional costumes join the opening of the second “Un Ai Rak Khlay Khwam
Nao,” a winter festival at Bangkok’s Royal Plaza.
His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn has granted a royal
permission for the organizing of the second edition of “Un Ai Rak Khlai Khwam
Nao,” or “Love and Warmth at Winter’s End,” at the Royal Plaza on the grounds
of Dusit Palace and Sanam Suea Pa from December 9 to January 19.
The festival held under the theme “The River of
Rattanakosin” came as Thailand is hosting beauty queens representing 95
countries vying for Miss Universe 2018 crown on December 17.
Like visitors at the retro-themed festival, the Miss
Universe contestants were dressed in traditional Thai costumes reflecting Thai
way of life of the old time.
The Festival is intended to reflect magnificence of Thai
arts, culture and traditions of old Siam during the Ratanakosin era.
“Un Ai Rak Khlai Khwam Nao” features exhibitions about Thai
history, the monarchs and the value of the waterways of Rattanakosin. On the ground of Sanam Sue Pa, visitors can
enjoy selected goods at royally-sponsored shops, delicious food and a variety
of cultural performances.(TNA)
