CHIANG RAI, DEC 4 (TNA) – A suspected drug dealer is
killed in a clash with Thai authorities in northern Chiang Rai while, along
with three accomplices, trying to smuggle over six million pills of
methamphetamine.
The drug smuggling gang led by Anucha Pakij-udom was
travelling in their vehicle from the Myanmar border
When confronting with a combined security officers on
Doiluang-Chiang Saen highway, the group sped away leading to a hot pursuit and
opened fires at officers.
The Chiang Khong district resident was cornered and briefly
put into police custody. But he was shot
dead as he swiftly attempted to attack police officer.
Police searched and found 6.1 million methamphetamine pills,
known as Ya Ba in Thailand, on the pick-up truck.(TNA)
