BANGKOK, Nov 24 (TNA) – Two private firms have joined hands in using CD storage boxes to build a Christmas tree and use plastic bottles and other wastes, collected from seas in Thailand, in making gifts for the upcoming annual X’Mas and New Year’s holidays.
Both the Christmas tree and the gifts can be seen at the Siam Discovery shopping mall.
Under the concept of ‘Circular Living Festival’, the PTT Global Chemical and Siam Piwat Co Ltd, have unveiled the Christmas tree with the height of 10 metres.
The highlight of the fair is the launch of ‘Upcycling the Oceans, Thailand’ project, in which plastic wastes, collected from the sea, are made into fashionable clothes and bags and display to the fairgoers and shoppers for the first time in the kingdom.
Revenue from sale will be donated to the Chaipattana Foundation. (TNA)
