SONGKHLA, Nov 20 (TNA) – More than 100 Tuk-tuk drivers in
Hat Yai, the largest city of Songkhla province in southern Thailand, hold a rally against GrabCar services, demanding authorities to take
legal actions.
Auto rickshaw drivers belonging to a Tuk-Tuk drivers’
association submitted a petition letter to Songkhla provincial governor to
address the problem arising from the ride-hailing platform.
Protest leaders said 500 Tuk-Tuk drivers signed the letter
demanding tangible measures to curb with what they call illegal operation
taking away their passengers.
They claimed there were about 200 drivers in GrabCar fleet
in Hat Yai and the number was growing.
“Authorities must take actions against GrabCar drivers that
are illegal in Thailand,” they said.(TNA)
