BANGKOK, Oct 22 (TNA) — Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha led cabinet ministers in a ceremony to plant Siamese Rosewood trees on the occasion of the National Tree Care Day which coincides with birthday of late Princess Srinagarindra, the Princess Mother of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol.
Gen Prayut led nine ministers in a ceremony to plant Siamese Rosewood trees at the field behind the Thai Khu Fah building in the Government House area today.
National Tree Care Day falls on October 21 of each year on the anniversary of late Princess Srinagarindra’s birthday. Princess Srinagarindra was a passionate conservationist and had promoted tree planting in every territory to improve ecological balance.
After the ceremony, Gen Prayut addressed the attending civil servants on the importance that tress and plants had to the country and wanted everyone one to plant more trees to set an example for the general public. (TNA)
