BANGKOK, Oct 20 (TNA) — Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said he is satisfied with the outcome of the 12th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) in Belgium.
General Prayut said several countries are interested in investing in the Thai government-sponsored Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) programme.
General Prayut told journalists after attending the 12th ASEM in Brussels that 51 member countries of ASEM conferred several interesting issues including security, economy, sustainable development and ways to tackle threats during the three-day meeting, ended Saturday.
“Many countries understand how Thailand is moving economy forward, especially the EEC economic development programme,” said Gen Prayut adding that the free trade area (FTA) is making headway and this issue should complete during next Thai government.
Estonia, for example, is conducting a feasibility study on investment in Thailand, he said.
German government leaders had also conferred on trade and investment with Thailand , Gen Prayut said, adding that he planned to visit Germany in November.
Gen Prayut and his accompanied officials arrived Bangkok this afternoon. (TNA)
