SI SA KET, July 16 (TNA) – Prime Minister Prayut
Chan-o-cha on Thursday visited farmers and youth groups in Si Sa Ket province
to promote sustainable farm management based on technology and innovation.
The premier met with farmers of well-known produces of the
northeastern province such as jasmine rice, Phu Khao Fai durian and Si Sa Ket
onion.
He presented a geographical indication (GI) certificates for
Si Sa Ket onion and Si Sa Ket garlic to farmer’s representatives.
Prayut also discussed with new generation groups — Young
Smart Farmer and Young Entrepreneur Chamber of Commerce – about problems Si Sa
Ket farmers are facing.
Young Smart Farmer and Young Entrepreneur Chamber of
Commerce programs are aimed at producing new agricultural ‘young blood’ that utilizes
technology to achieve maximum capabilities.
These groups of farmers have been supported with tools to
improve their production capacity, management, and farm marketing. (TNA)
