KANCHANABURI, May 22 (TNA) – A service point of Saiyok highway police in Kanchanaburi province has offered an online classroom for local poor students who have no equipment for e-learning or internet at their homes.
Pol.Lt.Col. Pitchayapat Yooyensiri, inspector of the highway police station 6 said the Saiyok high way police service point was arranged into classrooms for students to use the facilities there for the state distance learning television (DLTV) and online learning.
Face masks, hand sanitizer, lunch, snack and drinking water are provided for students.
Pol.Lt.Col. Pitchayapat said most of local people in Lumsum sub district in Saiyok district are farmers and rather poor. They have no internet at homes for children to access e-learning.
So, the highway police service point was turned into a makeshift classroom space for these children. They can online classes from 8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The DLTV and online classrooms were launched on Monday when the 2020 academic semester was supposed to begin. The Education Ministry postpones the date to July 1 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. (TNA)
