BANGKOK, April 7 (TNA) – Thailand reported new confirmed coronavirus infections rose by 38 to 2,258 on Tuesday with one more death, bringing the toll to 27.
The Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) updated the situation in the past 24 hours, saying 31 more patients recovered and were released from hospitals, raising the total recovery cases to 824.
The number of coronavirus patients being treated in hospitals is 1,408, said the CCSA spokesman, Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin.
The new death was a 54-year-old man, who has records of attending social gatherings at many places including Bangkok’s Thong Lor area. Among all new infections, the first group of 17 cases had close contact with previous patients.
The second group of 16 patients comprises three Thai returnees from overseas, three cases visiting crowded places such as shopping malls, markers and tourist spots, seven cases working in crowded areas or working closely with foreigners. Five cases are under investigation.
The spokesman said public members are well cooperative in social distancing.
Meanwhile, since the night curfew was imposed on April 3, police have caught 1,217 violators and another 76 people, who violated the order by gathering in groups. (TNA)
