BANGKOK, Jan 14 (TNA) – The University of the Thai
Chamber of Commerce (UTCC) expects Thai exports to shrink by 0.9-2.4 percent
this year.
Aat Pisanwanich, Director of UTCC’s Center for International
Trade Studies, said the university predicted Thailand would export US$244.23
billion worth of goods in 2020, with the baht appreciated to a six-year high.
He said baht strength, the Middle East tension and trade war
would continue to affect the country’s exports.
The UTCC forecasts the Thai economy would grow by 2.7-3.7
percent this year. (TNA)
