BANGKOK, Dec 24 (TNA) – Holidaymakers are invited to register their homes in the care of the police under the ten-day campaign to prevent burglary during the busy travel period for the New Year celebrations.
Royal Thai Police Spokesperson Pol Lt Gen Piya Utayo said the prime minister instructed the police stations nationwide to prevent and suppress crimes during the New Year festival and provide public safety at venues for countdown events and cross –year prayers.
In this regard, the “Leaving Home with the Police” campaign will run from today (Dec 24) to Jan 2 next year. House owners can register their homes with nearby police stations to join the campaign during their absence from home.
Police will conduct routine patrols and check the neighbourhoods, where the houses are located.
The Line chat application is used for the police to communicate with the house owners.
The ten-day campaign is aimed at prevent burglary during the long holiday. (TNA)
