BANGKOK, Dec 11 (TNA) – Thailand’s business confidence
index continued to drop for 12 consecutive months to 45.9 points in November,
the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC) says.
UTCC vice president for research Thanavath Phonvichai said
members of the Chamber of Commerce were worried about slow economy and falling
exports.
Last week, the UTCC’s Economic and Business Forecast Center
announced that the consumer confidence index fell to 60.1 points in November,
the lowest since 2016.
Thanavath called for speedy disbursement of government
budgets that had been delayed and affected business sentiment.
With additional economic stimulus packages to boost
confidence, Thanavath said he expected the economy to grow 2.9-3.1 percent next year on the
assumption that the United States did not further impose tariff hike on Chinese
goods.(TNA)
