PHICHIT, Nov 15 (TNA) – A district office in the northern
province of Phichit offers an organic rice growing course to local students.
The course is available for high school students in Taphan
Hin district, focusing on organic rice farming and traditional technique.
In a 120-day period, students will learn and practice rice
cultivation on a four-acre rice field from preparing saplings, planting to
harvesting.
Sponsored by the district office of Taphan Hin, the special
course is designed to pass on traditional rice farming of Thailand to the young
generations.
A part of the rice yield from the coursework will then turn
to meals for students in their respective school’s lunch programs. (TNA)
