BANGKOK, Nov 13 (TNA) — Gen Pornpipat Benyasri, Chief of Defence Forces, welcomed Vice Senior Gen Soe Win, deputy commander-in-chief of Myanmar’s Armed Forces and chief of Myanmar’s Army, who was officially visiting Thailand on Nov 12-15.
The reception took place at the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters. On the occasion, Vice Senior Gen Soe Win confirmed close and longstanding ties between Thai and Myanmar armed forces at both bilateral and multilateral levels.
He said the close ties covered the exchange of education, intelligence, cultures, military medicine and sports as well as cooperation on anti-narcotic operations along their borderline.
Gen Pornpipat expressed gratitude towards Vice Senior Gen Soe Win for his visit to the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters and assured that the bilateral military cooperation would be an important basis for the further development of Thai and Myanmar relations. (TNA)
