NAKHON RATCHASIMA, NOV 12 (TNA) – The armies of Thailand and the United Kingdom launched a joint military exercise, codenamed “Panther Gold 2019”, in Thailand’s northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima.
Deputy Chief of Staff, Gen. Paripat Palasin and British ambassador to Thailand, Brian Davidson presided over the opening of the joint military exercise at the Suranaree military camp, which started on Nov 4 and will run until Dec 1.
The drill is aimed to enhance military capabilities by exchanging knowledge and experience between the two countries.
The forces will also learn from each other about traditions, culture and customs of their countries to strengthen ties and cooperation in security between the troops.
Participants in the military exercise include 160 Thai troops and 120 British troops from the specialised Gurkha battalion.
The drill is the second joint military exercise between the UK and Thailand. (TNA)
