BANGKOK, Nov 6 (TNA) — The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has included Bangkok and Sukhothai in its Creative City Network.
Prime Minister/Defence Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha informed the cabinet of the listing of Bangkok and Sukhothai as two of 66 Creative Cities, government spokesperson Narumon Pinyosinwat said.
Bangkok is a Creative City for designing and Sukhothai was listed for its local handicraft and arts.
“Besides, the prime minister asked the Interior Ministry to arrange for vending areas after street vendors complained about law enforcement to create order. The Interior Ministry will provide them with new vending areas within November,” Ms Narumon said.
She added that Natural Resources and Environment Minister Varawut Silpa-archa proposed cabinet ministers release only one Krathong float when they join the Loy Krathong festival during their trip to Kanchanaburi and Ratchaburi provinces on Nov 11-12 to support environmental conservation. (TNA)
