BANGKOK, Oct 18 (TNA) – Thailand has prepared to welcome Pope Francis, who will make the Apostolic visit to the kingdom from Nov 20-23at the invitation of the Thai government and the Bishops of Thailand.
Representative of Catholic press said that preparations at the venues, the pontiff is scheduled to visit, are 50 per cent completed. It is expected about 6,000 Thai and foreign Catholics will participate in the events.
Beside the holy mass at the national stadium on Nov 21, His Holiness will conduct holy mass with young people in the Cathedral of the Assumption on Nov 22 from 4.45 pm. – 7 pm.
The ceremony will be broadcast live on MCOT HD30.
During his visit, His Holiness will meet Thai Prime Minister at Government House and the Supreme Patriarch at Wat Ratchbophit on Nov 21. Pope Francis will have audience with His Majesty the King at Amphorn Palace.
He will preside at religious ceremonies and pastoral visits to Catholic communities, before travelling onwards to Japan between Nov 23-26. (TNA)
