BANGKOK, Aug 28 (TNA) — The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) will conduct a roadshow in Bahrain next month to woo their people to visit Thailand for health and beauty services.
Srisuda Wanapinyosak, TAT deputy governor for Europe, Africa, the Middle East and America, said the TAT would organize the “Amazing Thailand Health and Wellness Road Show to Bahrain” on Sept 17 in Bahrain.
The event was aimed at increasing the number of Bahraini visitors to Thailand and raising national income from tourism by at least 10%, she said.
According to Mrs Srisuda, about 32,000 Bahraini travelers visit Thailand annually and about 9,600 of them arrive for health and beauty services.
These specific service users normally stay in Thailand for five days and each spend at least 100,000 baht a day. The TAT hopes the roadshow will increase national income from tourism by 1.6 billion baht.
Ms Srisuda said TAT would bring representatives of 40 clinics that met the JCI Accreditation Standards for Hospitals to Bahrain on the occasion to present useful information.
Although Middle East countries did not encourage their people to use health services overseas, Thailand’s health and beauty services were various and outstanding and should attract foreigners, she said. (TNA)
