BANGKOK, Oct 26 (TNA) – Old and new government spokesmen met to hand over responsibilities and denied they had a conflict.
New spokesman Puttipong Punnakan said he discussed work handover with his predecessor Lt Gen Sansern Kaewkumnerd who would work fulltime as the director-general of the Public Relations Department and they did not have any conflict.
Mr Puttipong said he would emphasize proactive communications and increase communication channels, especially those via social media. In the lead-up to the next general election, politically motivated content and accusations would increase and proactive work was necessary to cope with them, he said.
The Facebook page of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha faced attacking messages initially. That was normal and subsequent posts there became more balanced, Mr Puttipong said.
Lt Gen Sansern said he would do the job he loved at the Public Relations Department and abandon his military roles.
The prime minister needed a politician to handle information and deliver explanations on political issues, he said. He denied he had any conflict. (TNA)
