BANGKOK, Jan 30 (TNA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms that Hamas is coordinating internally to release Thai hostages this evening.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel, was informed internally that the Thai hostages would be released at approximately 10:00 AM local time, which is about 5 hours behind Thailand.
However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not made any statements until they see the hostages being released. This is because, according to the previous hostage release procedure, after the release, a helicopter will take the hostages from the release border to a medical center prepared to take care of the hostages’ health.
When the Thai Ambassador to Tel Aviv receives the hostages and confirms their identities and names are correct according to the reported time, an official statement will be made at approximately 8:30 PM.
A team of Thai officials will be waiting to visit the hostages and bring them back. It is expected that a minister may fly there in person. – 819 (TNA)
