BANGKOK, Oct 14 (TNA) – The board of the Public Warehouse Organization approved the expulsion of three officials at the governmental organization for corruption in a 112-billion-baht rubber glove procurement project.
PWO director Kriangsak Prateepvisut said the board endorsed the severe disciplinary punishment against former PWO director Roongroj Phutthiyawat and executive officials Kiatkajorn Sae-thai and Murathathorn Khambut in relation to corruption in the procurement of 500 million boxes of rubber gloves. The resolution responded to a proposal from a disciplinary probe committee.
The PWO would report the resolution to the office of the Prime Minister’s Office permanent secretary and recall salaries and benefits from the three officials from the day when their corruption started, Mr. Kriangsak said.
A damage committee would conclude within October the damage for which each official would be ordered to pay. The overall damage was initially estimated at 2 billion baht, he said.
Besides, the National Anti-Corruption Commission already pressed charges against the three officials and would propose the case to public prosecutors for indictment later, Mr. Kriangsak said. (TNA)
